New APE Professional Development Resource

The National Consortium of Physical Education and Recreation for Individuals with Disabilities (NCPERID) recently worked with the National Association of State Directors for Special Education (NASDSE) to develop a new adapted physical education (APE) resource. The result is a video project that clearly outlines all aspects of APE, including definition, legislative issues, assessment, service delivery, quality of instruction, and more. Many excellent resources are also provided.

I encourage those seeking professional development for APE to check it out here.

  1. As you know physical education is very important to all in today’s society. What activities would you recommend for special education students so they are able to participate and be active?
